Anything Can Happen On Halloween

The Worst Witch was an overlooked 1986 made-for-TV movie about a shitty young witch named Mildred Hubble (played by Fairuza Balk), and her misadventures while attending Mrs. Cackle's Academy For Witches. Originally aired as a Halloween special, the movie was based on the book series of the same name and always stood out in my memory because of all the cool witch imagery and fuzzy, television camera feel.

I know you're obviously not about to sit through however many parts of that there are, unless you're an eight year old goth girl or some weird demigod that derives strength from kitschy things. So luckily, all the B-movie shit-show madness is summed up in one song performed by head of the school, The Grand Wizard. Tim Curry tears shit up as usual in the role when The Grand Wizard pays a special visit/performance on behalf of  the academy on All Hallow's Eve. It's complete with the tightest 80's green screen trick photography, funked out synths and Tim Curry silencing any critics forever that might think The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a stroke of ancient tranny luck. Take that motherfuckers.
